Meet and Greet: Mary Alex Smith

March 30, 2015

Mary Alex Smith, Dallas, TX

PCE: How long have you been working for Park Cities Events?

MAS: 2-3 years

PCE: Do you have a most memorable moment or wedding/event from your time their thus far?

MAS: One of the maid of honors forgot the groom’s ring. I have never run so fast in heels before. We got the ring and everything worked out perfectly. My favorite part of any wedding is the first time the groom sees the bride. I think it is such a magical moment.

PCE: Favorite flowers?

MAS:Roses, lilies, and orchids.

PCE: Favorite thing about working at Park Cities Events?

MAS: The beautiful girls I get to work with. I also enjoy getting to know all of the different locations and bands. Each wedding is different and I think that is what separates us from other people. Mary Lou and Judy have the perfect touches to make every wedding different.

PCE: How would you describe your personal style?

MAS: I am a little bit more “sporty chic.” Give me jeans, a simple top, and some amazing earrings any day. I think an outfit is all about the earrings.

PCE: What are your favorite places for wedding inspiration- books, magazines, blogs, etc.?

MAS:I love looking at Pinterest. There are so many different styles and ideas. It does make it hard to choose one.

PCE: What are your favorite Dallas restaurants and spots?

MAS: I think Saint Ann has the best brunch in Dallas. I think anywhere with a good porch is a good spot for me. The best dinner is Urbano Cafe.

PCE:  What are your favorite colors?

MAS: Any shade of blue.

PCE: How would you describe your personal event style?

MAS: Elegant and classic. I love when we use simple lights and candles. You do not want the room to take away from the beautiful newlyweds!

PCE:  What is a dream wedding or event that you’ll never be able to forget (either celebrity or something you’ve experienced)?

MAS: I know this does not have to do with weddings but I do have one event that I will never forget. It was November 1, 2008. I was a freshman at Texas Tech and that was the day we played Texas and won. I still get excited thinking about Michael Crabtree’s last minute catch to win the game.

PCE: Where are your favorite places to travel?

MAS: My family has a lake house between Austin and San Antonio. That is my happy place. My second favorite place is the British Virgin Islands. I love to scuba dive and they have some amazing spots to visit.

PCE: Where do you see yourself in ten years?

MAS: I hope to be a successful woman in my career. I would love to be able to make a difference and be a role model. I also hope to be married and have a family of my own.

PCE: Favorite or special quote or motto you love?

MAS: Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

“You’ve gotta dance like there’s nobody watching,
Love like you’ll never be hurt,
Sing like there’s nobody listening,
And live like it’s heaven on earth.”
