Sarah and Matt’s May wedding was such a beautiful celebration for the sweetest and most fun couple! After their ceremony at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, the newlywed’s friends and family gathered for a gorgeous reception at Northwood Country Club, beginning with a cocktail hour outside. One of our favorite features seen in the cocktail hour area was the escort card shelf. The gold shelf was beautifully dressed up with candles and pops of large, bright pink peonies in various designs of gold vases. After cocktails, guests filed into the ballroom for a seated dinner and an evening of dancing. The ballroom looked absolutely beautiful thanks to the florals by Jackson Durham. In springtime hues of green and pink, the arrangements were both timeless and stunning–certainly creating a “wow” factor in the ballroom. The head table, beautifully draped with a gold tablecloth, was also accented with monogrammed napkins in the couple’s new initials. We love this trend, as the napkins are such a special keepsake for the newlyweds after the wedding reception. After first dances and a seated dinner, guests were treated to two delicious cakes by Frosted Art Bakery. The Bride’s cake featured four tiers of cake in a variety of flavors, simply decorated with a white lace pattern, a few gardenias and the couple’s monogram. The Groom’s cake was a classic design of chocolate with strawberries–with an added twist of having blocks of chocolate around the cake serve as an homage to Matt. Elements such as a gavel–as the groom is a lawyer–and the University of Texas logo added a playful twist to an otherwise classic Groom’s cake. After cake cutting, the Ice House Band invited guests to the dance floor to start the party! As Sarah and Matt’s wedding fell on Cinco de Mayo, sombreros were passed around the dance floor as well as plenty of glow in the dark necklaces and tambourines. As an added treat, freshly fried donuts were outside waiting for guests as Sarah and Matt made their exit between a line of sparklers!
Congrats, Sarah & Matt! We loved getting to work with you both on your special day!
